Draw out any design on a piece of paper using a pencil. Use a pencil or a disappearing ink pen to transfer design to fabric. For dark fabrics use a white chalk pencil to trace design.

PROCESS:

After selecting brushes and designs it’s time to start painting on selected fabric. Wet the fabric with clean water before starting painting. It encourages colors to flow into each other like in a watercolor. Don’t add too much water as it will dilute the colors. The fabric should be damp not soaking. Switch to the painting tool of your choice and paint over the image that you just traced. To create a watercolor look, mix your paint color with water until it is the thickness of writing ink. Spray water lightly on the fabric surface using a mister bottle after painting to allow the brush strokes to bleed lightly while switching between colors. If the paint begins to bleed too much grab a hair dryer and dry the spot to stop the process. Fabric spray paint dries more quickly than other types of fabric paint and allows you to easily fill in intricate stencils. To create texture, use a combing tool. You can add variation and create depth simply by combing paint in small sections.

FINISHING TOUCH:

Make fabric sparkling with glitter. Simply sprinkle the glitter of your choice on top of the paint while it is still wet. Allow the paint to dry fully for up to 24 hours. Once you've finished your design, let the paint dry for 24 hours and do not wash your fabric for 72 hours after painting.

FABRIC PAINTS:

Purchase fabric paint that can apply with paint brushes. This type of fabric paint allows you to mix and alter colors before adhering the paint to the fabric.

FABRIC PAINTING

Fabric painting is one of the famous kind cloth paintings. For a small outlay on a few colors and a suitable brush, fabric painting opens up endless opportunities for transforming wardrobe and home design some special cushion covers, curtains, and a wall hanging. The best fabric for painting on is 100 percent cotton with a tight. But good results can be obtained with rayon and silks too.

PROCESS FOR FABRIC PAINTING:

CLIPBOARD:

Place a barrier between the front and back layers of the fabric. Use a large clipboard, smooth cardboard, or waxed paper in between the two. Stamping and stenciling on fabric work best if working on a lightly padded surface.

BRUSHES:

Choose paint brushes according to the effect that we want to create with brush strokes. Flat shader brushes have a chiseled edge that allows painting clean lines and filling in large spaces. Liner brushes are long or short tapered and are ideal for making long brush strokes. Scrubber brushes are composed of tapered bristles perfect for blending color and creating short, rough strokes.
